Finally.......THE HOUSE!

Okay, so I didn't blog for 3 months. Some people would really try to not make excuses, but I'm not one of those people. I have plenty of excuses. And here they are in chronological order:

End of school year
Closed on our house
Daughter visit for 5 weeks
Grandpa visit for 7 days
Started a new bible study
Got a new dog
Nephew visit for 7 days

So there they are and they are perfectly viable excuses. What do you mean all those excuses didn't seem to stop me from checking my facebook on a daily basis? Facebook really only requires a few minutes at a time and is much easier to check than to conjure up the brain power to write out a heartfelt and witty blog entry. So, all that aside, I know you're dying to hear about my house!

It's a 1918 American Foursquare style house. 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, 2-story, hardwood floors in most of the rooms, original woodwork (as far as I know), and we absolutely love it! We closed on June 12 and got all the stuff moved over on June 20. Here's some pics:

I actually have a few more things to blog about, but it is just getting too late. Maybe I can conjure up some sort of miraculous consistency and actually blog again this week!

Ok, Maybe I'm Not Really Back Yet...

Well, I thought I was back and would get some bloggity-blog-blog blogging done, but maybe not. You see, I was taken hostage by these 2 really scary men (well, actually, boys) and they refuse to let me go and move out of my house for at least another 6-13 years. They just keep making messes, dirtying everything and bringing me endless stacks of paper from their daytime hideout that I can't seem to get a grip on. I am just buried under piles and piles of their mess and filth and I can't seem to break free! You think I'm kidding??? Well, I have pictures to prove it!


This one seems to be the ring leader. He's made this ferocious face so many times, that it seems to have frozen like this! Can you imagine having to look at this hideousness day-in and day-out? It's torture, I tell you! Can't you see the pleading in my eyes? Somebody.....please.....help.....



This guy may look small, but he seems to be the muscle of the group (think Joe Pesci). My gosh, just look at him! He pulls his own teeth out for fun! Just look at that grizzly smile. Have you ever seen anything so sinister?

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!

I don't have time to try and bore you with listing everything I've been up to during my 3 month hiatus, so I'm going to give you a quick run-down:

Jenna came to visit for a couple weeks!

THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER!

I will now share with you what I had to use my extra special Fedex pak for. Some of you will recall that I had 5 kidney stones a while back. (If you missed that post, you can read it here.) Well, in order to find out what my kidney stone was made of, I had to give a 24-hour urine sample. Basically, pee into a container every time you pee for a 24-hour period, then send them a sample of it. In case you're wondering what kind of container I had to pee into, here it is:



And yes, it did have to be refridgerated! I had to put a jug of urine in my fridge. Luckily, that wasn't the night the queen was coming over for dinner, cuz I think that would've made a very poor impression. I know it made a definite impression on my 11-year-old. He really had no appreciation whatsoever for the jug of pee in our fridge. In fact, he didn't even find it funny when I told him I was going to wash and re-use the jug to make orange juice in. Sheesh, some people!

So, from the jug I had to fill up 2 little vials, with pretty blue lids, with my pee.


And then put those little vials, with pretty blue lids, into a special ziploc bag and into a little cardboard box.



And into my special Fedex pak and off to Fedex to be delivered to the lab.

So, ladies and gents, what have we learned from this little exercise in medical sampling??? If you want to avoid, at all costs, putting pee-pee in your refridgerator, be sure to drink plenty of water, so that this doesn't happen to you.

Wow, I was just looking up a recipe for Banana Pancakes to cook for breakfast and found out that Jack Johnson has a song called 'Banana Pancakes'! It's a pretty sweet song. (And yeah, like you need ANOTHER reason to like Jack Johnson.) I mean, he DID do the soundtrack to Curious George...

Quilt Giveaway
